1/ Building a mindset that is geared towards taking safety compliance 

Annually, VSSES holds a series of in-house training on Health, Safety & Environment to equip our staff with preventive solutions aligned to each practical scenario whereby they may face the high risks of being injured when working on the construction site. 

Health, Safety & Environment Training For VSSES Staff

 At the end of the training series, there will be a validation test which is considered as a compulsory condition for VSSES team and outsourced vendors which will contribute directly to the installation of the system. The trainer who designed and hosted the session was Mr. Lam Duong, HSE Manager of VSSES. He has 10 years of experience in the field of safety and takes the responsibility for overseeing HSE compliance on every rooftop solar project that our company has conducted. 

Our staff are always advised to be on their guard against risks right from daily practice so that they can shape themselves into a strong mindset of safety compliance when conducting rooftop solar projects for partners and clients. 

2/ Our all-out measures put into action to eliminate the threat of accidents  

Strict load-bearing capacity assessment 

From the pre project implementation phase, VSSES has executed absolute safety with our two-layered roof structural assessment. In the preliminary survey, we take to a 3D laser scanner which enables a reliable examination of the building’s external and internal structure. The technical team will rely on the measure metrics and the digital 3D representation to comprehensively determine the load-bearing capacity of the building, showing if it is safe enough to build an RTS system atop the roof. 

If the building is initially qualified for a rooftop solar system, VSSES will process the second assessment in the collaboration with a 3rd party consultant who is a certified expert in roof inspections. The ultimate result of two assessment rounds will set a concrete foundation for the realization of a rooftop solar project. 

Fall protection measures 

Furthermore, given that RTS installation involves lots of climbing, VSSES ensures our team can get the easiest and safest access to the roof by setting up the scaffolding system. 

The advantage of this practice over other commonly used equipment like cat ladders is its smart design to handle heavy weights and eliminate accidental hazards as many as possible. For example, the scaffold saves room for the construction team to take a rest along the way which the cat ladder doesn’t have. 

Personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers 

Personal protective equipment, commonly referred to as “PPE”, is equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses. Such equipment may include hard hats, safety glasses with side shields and face shields, gloves, boots, respirators, and chemical-resistant clothing. These types of devices help keep employees safe while performing occupational tasks. 

All installers and supervisors belonging to VSSES team have to wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be allowed work on site
